Jason Whitlock SLAMS Caitlin Clark’s ability – and explains why she’s struggling in the WNBA

Jason Whitlock SLAMS Caitlin Clark’s ability – and explains why she’s struggling in the WNBA.

Jason Whitlock posited a theory about why Caitlin Clark has struggled at times during her very young WNBA career.

In the aftermath of back-to-back losses, the controversial podcaster said he thinks the Indiana Fever star has made it to ‘too easy’ for competitors to defend her.

’20 games into her WNBA career, and Caitlin Clark is just too easy to defend,’ he wrote on X Sunday afternoon.

‘She takes virtually no easy shots because she doesn’t hunt them. Love her playmaking. But constantly launching difficult 27-footers won’t work.’

Many of Whitlock’s followers agreed with his take, and offered their own thoughts on how the 22-year-old was adapting to the league after a stellar college career.

‘Caitlin Clark does a phenomenal job getting her teammates easy looks, but her teammates don’t know how to help her get an easy shot. She will evolve, she definitely needs to be more aggressive with her attacking and attempts,’ one fan tweeted.

‘I think she’s exhausted from the long college season and then right into the crazy schedule of the WNBA,’ another suggested.

A third pointed out that she ‘hasn’t looked herself last few games,’ adding, ‘I am guessing coach isn’t getting her motivated and offensive scheme looks disorganized.’

It comes a few days after the superstar rookie made a stunning admission about her coach, Christie Sides.

Following the Fever’s loss to the Storm last week, the Iowa alum was asked about the best piece of in-game advice she has received so far this season.

The rookie implied she does not receive any advice from Sides during games for the Fever

‘Nobody gives me advice in game. I wish,’ she admitted.

Although she was asked specifically about advice from her teammates, her response opened Sides up for fierce criticism on social media

‘@fever Remind me again…Why is @ChristieSides the Head Coach again?’ one person wrote.

‘oh christie sides count your days,’ another chimed in.

Meanwhile, a third added, ‘the COACH could do that…’

Clark, the No. 1 pick at this year’s WNBA Draft, is enjoying a whirlwind rookie season after breaking a host of records in her historic college career.

While she has been at the center of widespread controversy surrounding her shot to fame, she is already justifying the hype on the court, leading the way for rookies when it comes to points per game with 16.2.
