Charlamagne tha God claims Caitlin Clark is only popular because she’s WHITE – as he backs her WNBA rival A’ja Wilson

Caitlin Clark race debate rolls on as Charlamagne tha God claims she is only popular because she’s WHITE – as he backs her WNBA rival A’ja Wilson.

Caitlin Clark has been at the forefront of shooting the WNBA into unprecedented popularity. And popular radio host Charlamagne tha God said he believes the reason the Indiana Fever star has become incredibly popular is primarily because she’s white.

Charlamagne tha God gave his remarks during an interview with late night host Bill Maher, as Charlamagne compared Clark’s booming celebrity status to that of Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson.

Wilson was just as dominant as Clark during her college career. Wilson was so influential for South Carolina, Colonial Life Arena in Columbia has erected a statue outside its doors in her honor.

Clark should have a statue of her own built in lowa City one day, but it only states how transcendent Wilson was, especially playing for Dawn Staley amid the dominance of the Gamecocks over the last several years.

Wilson has continued to be one of basketball’s best as a two-time WNBA MVP. She did not receive an eighth of the attention Clark has. Maher and Charlamagne questioned if had to with Clark’s race.

CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD: “A’ja Wilson was the biggest thing when she came out of South Carolina … and she didn’t get all of that.”

BILL MAHER: “So what do you attribute that to? I mean, you’re saying that’s… – The Vigilant Fox

‘A’ja Wilson was the biggest thing when she came out of South Carolina … and she didn’t get all of that, Charlamagne said.

‘So what do you attribute that to? I mean, you’re saying that’s racism?’ Maher questioned.

‘No, I’m not saying it’s racist. I’m just saying that I think A’ja Wilson has a point, and I think sometimes when, you know, black women say certain things, we should listen, especially her because I’m not in her shoes,’ Charlamagne responded.

‘But why was Serena Williams such a big star? Because people like that. They didn’t not watch her because she was black, right?’ Maher added.

Williams was tennis’ biggest star and best player for more than a decade, who was black in a white-dominated sport.

The inverse is true for Clark, with a majority of the WNBA being black womеn.

Williams herself recently commented to TIME on Clark’s rise to fame, seemingly agreeing with Maher.

‘If people are negative it’s because they can’t do what you do,’ Williams said.

Harry and Meghan have ‘fake friends’ in Hollywood, an expert claimed (Image: Getty)Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are surrounded by “fake friends” in Hollywood who are now ditching the Sussexes because they are “falling stars”, a royal expert tells the Daily Express.

Hilary Fordwich, a journalist and commentator based in the US, points to a recent comment made by Hollywood A-lister Gwyneth Paltrow to show that Harry and Meghan are losing support in the States.

She said: “Look at Gynweth Paltrow distancing herself from Meghan and Harry, she is the latest A-lister to come out in support of Kate.

“I don’t think Harry and Meghan realise that you need a USP, you need to be unique. Harry has nothing, the only thing that made him and Meghan unique was their links to the Royal Family.

“Everyone is out for themselves. People don’t want to be with a falling star, and I don’t think Harry and Meghan realise how transient these ‘friendships’ are.

“They are pseudo-friends. They only go with people they think are rising stars.”

Ms Paltrow sent a message in support of Princess Kate after she made her return to public engagements at Trooping the Colour.

Commenting on Instagram, Ms Paltrow said to Kate and Prince William: “So happy to see you looking so happy and well.”

Closer Magazine reported that the friendship between Meghan and Ms Paltrow has cooled in recent months.

They said: “The actress-turned-entrepreneur [Meghan] was excluded from the intimate Goop dinner – held at her Montecito home last month.”

Royal author Phil Dampier told Fabulous: “Gwyneth Paltrow is the latest celebrity who seems to be taking sides in the Wales v Sussex standoff.

“Meghan is said to have based her new lifestyle project American Riviera Orchard on the actress’s own products and she admires her greatly so this will hurt.

“Gwyneth didn’t have to make any comment about Kate being at Trooping the Colour but the fact she has means she fully supports her, and like the rest of us, wants her to make a speedy recovery.

“It comes after other well-known people like David Beckham, who was once friendly with Harry and Meghan, have very much pinned their colours to the royal mast.”

Prince Harry could reunite with Prince William and King Charles could see more of Archie and Lilibet according to a Royal expert – who claims a bold move would not need to include Meghan…

Prince Harry is being pressured by his dad King Charles to make a bold move to resolve the feud with his brother Prince William – and “neatly get around the problem of Meghan Markle”.

That’s according to a Royal expert, who has suggested Princes Harry and William could be on the brink of mending their strained relationship, due to “pressure” from their father, King Charles III.

Tom Quinn, a Royal commentator and author, has revealed that the Duke of Sussex is being urged by the King to find a UK residence so that Charles can spend more quality time with his grandchildren, Archie and Lillibet. This move could potentially pave the way for a reunion between the two brothers on British soil.

However, Mr Quinn doubts that Meghan Markle would accompany her husband, given her past negative experiences with the Royal Family.

William and Kate’s children would spend the weekend at Highgrove and Harry’s children could then easily pop over from their house nearby.

“This would neatly get round the problem of Meghan – she just wouldn’t need to be there and the children could be whisked back to the States after a week or two.”

Despite Quinn’s speculations, Harry’s life is currently rooted in the US and he has previously discussed the possibility of becoming an American citizen. During an interview with Good Morning America, he was asked whether he had considered applying for citizenship in the States.During an interview with William Reeve, Prince Harry was quizzed: “Do you feel American?” To which he candidly replied: “Do I feel American? No… I don’t know how I feel.”

On the topic of potentially applying for American citizenship, Harry admitted: “I have no idea. I’m here standing next to these guys. The American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind, but certainly not something that is a priority for me right now.”

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle appears to be thoroughly enjoying her Californian lifestyle, and Royal author Omid Scobie suggests she may never return to British soil. In his explosive book ‘Endgame’, Scobie writes that Meghan “never felt at home” in the UK and is adamant about not wanting to “set foot again in England.

“Despite not attending King Charles’ Coronation last May nor accompanying Harry to his Invictus Games event earlier this year, Scobie alleges that Meghan’s absence is due to her reluctance to “dive back into the soap opera of the court”.
